La Quinta Moves Into Second in Poll
Mater Dei High School remained on top in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep baseball poll and surprising La Quinta moved into the second position after seven of the top 10 teams lost last week.
The Monarchs (18-1) are also the top-ranked team in the nation by USA Today. In the featured game of the week, ninth-ranked Mission Viejo travels to El Toro for a key South Coast League game.
