Sunset League : Weatrowski Leads Westminster, 4-1

Senior right-hander Ron Weatrowski pitched a four-hitter on Friday to lead Westminster High School to a 4-1 Sunset League win over Fountain Valley at Fountain Valley.

Weatrowski, who has allowed only two earned runs in his last 34 innings, struck out three and improved his record to 2-3 as the last-place Lions moved to within one game of the Barons.

Westminster scored single runs in the second, third, sixth and seventh innings. Two of the Lions’ runs were unearned as Fountain Valley committed two errors.

Al Rodriquez led the Lion offense by going 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Steve Kaloper (1-1) took the loss for Fountain Valley.
