Convicted killer Jesse de la Rosa was executed by injection in Huntsville, Tex., after his attorneys lost last-minute appeals to spare his life. The U.S. Supreme Court voted to let stand rulings that denied de la Rosa a new hearing, and hours later Gov. Mark White rejected a request for a 30-day reprieve. De la Rosa was convicted of killing a convenience store clerk in a 1979 robbery that netted a six-pack of beer.
