Southern Section Softball : Edison Beats Long Beach Poly in Wild-Card Playoff Game
The Edison High School softball team downed Long Beach Poly, 8-3, at Edison in Tuesday’s only Southern Section 4-A softball wild-card playoff game.
Sophomore third baseman Dena Baker went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, and Julie Carpenter picked up the win to raise her record to 18-8. Edison scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-1 lead.
Edison (23-9) advances to Thursday’s first-round action, in which it play at Rolling Hills, the first-place entry from the Bay League.
