Mountain Lion ‘Back Home’: A mountain lion that apparently had sought refuge in the backyard of a Mission Viejo home is back in more natural surroundings. The cat was taken to the Cleveland National Forest and released Sunday afternoon and “was last seen disappearing into the undergrowth,” said Capt. Bill Scheflin of the state Fish and Game Department. The 115-pound, young adult male had been captured Saturday in the 24000 block of Tree Street by county animal control personnel using a tranquilizer gun. He had apparently wandered into the residential area from nearby foothills.
