Larry Bird Repeats as MVP

Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics was named the Most Valuable Player for the 1984-85 National Basketball Assn. season today, joining four others who have won the award in consecutive years.
Bird received 73 first-place votes from a nationwide media panel, followed by Terry Cummings of the Milwaukee Bucks and Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls with two votes each and Magic Johnson of the Lakers with one vote.
