The state ban against mangoes imported from Mexico has been lifted after Mexican authorities agreed to an inspection program by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Under the plan, USDA inspectors will be allowed to monitor fumigation of the fruit in Mexico. The ban was imposed last month after eggs of the crop-destroying Mexican fruit fly were found in mangoes in Sutter County, north of Sacramento.
