Brown Scores 10th-Round TKO

Charlie (White Lightning) Brown stopped Ted Michaliszym in the 10th round in their scheduled 10-round junior welterweight bout Tuesday night at the Country Club.

Brown, of North Hollywood, won the early rounds with his aggressive style, throwing combinations to his opponent’s head and body.

Michaliszym, of Las Vegas, hurt Brown near the end of the fourth round with a short right-cross but was unable to put him away.

In the fifth round, Michaliszym, 140 pounds, continued to pummel the 142 1/2-pound Brown. But referee Kenny Davis deducted one point from Michaliszym for rabbit punches at the end of the round.
