‘Standing Tall’ on Hostages
Were I one of the hapless American hostages, I would (at least) be overwhelmingly grateful that “macho” Norman Podhoretz is not my President!
For this intellectually bankrupt, emotional cripple to assert that “standing tall” is more important than the safe return of the hostages is to deny the primacy of life itself.
I wonder if Podhoretz would switch places with a hostage should Reagan be cold enough to implement the kinds of action Podhoretz is pleading for between the lines.
Our refusal as a nation to descend to the level of fanatics is entirely honorable, the type of “standing tall” moral pygmies such as Norman Podhoretz seem to be incapable of grasping.
