Manhunt on in Double Slaying in Sun Valley
Los Angeles police searched Monday for a Sun Valley man suspected of shooting two other Sun Valley men to death late Sunday night.
Lt. Ron LaRue said the two dead men, whose names were not released pending notification of kin, were found in an apartment in the 7900 block of DeGarmo Avenue at about 10 p.m. Both had been shot in the upper body, LaRue said. One was dead at the scene; the other was taken to Serra Memorial Health Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police are searching for Manual Ballanes, LaRue said. Ballanes, who lives near the shooting scene, had not returned home since the killing, police said. LaRue would not say why police suspect Ballanes, who is in his 30s. LaRue said detectives have not established a motive for the killing.
