Immigration Legislation
I am delighted with Rodino’s article.
Our nearly open borders makes a mockery of controls on these borders. Any Tom, Dick or Harry thumbs his nose at our regulations to regulate the influx of illegal aliens.
Many of our cities along the southern borders of the United States have their problems compounded by this influx of people. Our problems with poverty have escalated as the poor have strained our resources.
Does this United States have the right to determine who shall enter this country and who shall not? We have been taught to believe that this is a sovereign nation; that we have the right to operate, control, make laws and regulate ourselves according to these laws. If there is any truth to this concept, why then are we tolerating this flood of people into our country?
