An autopsy failed to disclose the cause of death of Janice Eileen Hughes, 18, granddaughter of the founder of Hughes Markets Inc., a spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported. However, pending the results of toxicological tests, investigators feel “it appears to have been a case of death caused by drugs,” spokesman Bill Gold said. Gold said there were no signs of trauma on the body, which was found in a transients’ sleeping area near the Hollywood Freeway in Hollywood.
