Townsell, Rudolph Leave Express for NFL Jets
Wide receiver Jojo Townsell and defensive end Ben Rudolph, both of whom played for the Los Angeles Express last season, have been released from their United States Football League contracts and have signed with the New York Jets, it was announced Monday.
Townsell, 24, the Jets’ third-round draft choice in 1983, and Rudolph, 28, a four-year veteran who played out his option with New York last year, were freed from their USFL obligations on Friday.
A Jets’ spokesman said both passed physicals Monday and were signed.
