Rogerson Aircraft Corp. said its Hiller Helicopter subsidiary has acquired L.O.M. Corp. of Traverse City, Mich., a helicopter rotor blade manufacturer.
Michael Rogerson, chairman of the closely held Irvine aerospace firm, declined to release the terms of the sale or other details, but said in a prepared statement that “the acquisition will further broaden our technological base and strengthen Hiller’s capability to support its customers worldwide.”
The statement said that the new subsidiary will be named Aerobond and moved to Port Angeles, Wash., where Hiller is building a new manufacturing facility to replace its Porterville plant.
Rogerson Aircraft bought the bankrupt Hiller Aviation in April 1984 for a price described as more than $3 million, and Kratos Aviation Products Inc. in December for more than $5 million.
