Relief pitcher Bruce Sutter of the Atlanta Braves went to St. Louis to seek treatment for a nagging shoulder injury that limited his pitching motion in Thursday’s game against the Chicago Cubs.
Sutter, who has never had a shoulder problem in 10 years of pitching, got a cortisone injection in his right shoulder last Friday but said it didn’t help. He then decided to see Dr. Stan London, the Cardinals’ team physician who treated Sutter when he pitched for St. Louis.
