Worldwide beer production fell last year.
A survey, by Kirin Brewery of Japan, cited market saturation, low temperatures in Europe and increases in alcohol taxes for the first decline in at least 10 years. Global beer production was put at 25.6 billion gallons in 1984, down 0.2%. Kirin said the production figures were based on data obtained from beer associations throughout the world.
