The AIDS Dilemma
One of Restak’s sentences bears repeating: “Plagues are not new. What is new are efforts by medically unsophisticated politicians and attorneys to dictate policy in regard to an illness that has the potential for wreaking a devastation such as has not been encountered on this planet in hundreds of years.”
Mayor Tom Bradley and the L.A. City Council don’t know the difference between civil rights and medical issues, yet they show questionable logic having approved an ordinance making it illegal to discriminate against plague victims.
