Rancho Santiago Gets Pair of Wins in Cross-Country
The Rancho Santiago College men’s and women’s cross-country teams defeated Fullerton and Cerritos Friday in a double-dual South Coast Conference meet at Craig Park in Brea.
The Don men’s team defeated Cerritos, 22-35, and beat Fullerton, 22-41, to improve its record to 4-0. Fullerton’s Dave Miller finished the four-mile course in 20:27 to finish first. Rancho Santiago’s Ruben Esparza and Sergio Ocadiz tied for second with a time of 20:35.
The Don women’s team beat Cerritos, 23-32, and defeated Fullerton, 21-34, to improve its record to 3-1. Rancho Santiago’s Kelly Miller finished first on the three-mile course with a time of 18:46.
In another South Coast Conference double-dual meet Friday, the Orange Coast College men’s and women’s teams defeated Cypress and Saddleback in Central Park in Huntington Beach.
The Pirate men’s team defeated Saddleback, 18-38, and beat Cypress, 15-50, to improve its record to 4-0. Orange Coast’s Tom Burns finished first with a time of 20:38.
The Pirate women’s team beat Cypress, 15-50, and defeated Saddleback, 15-50, to improve its record to 4-0. Kathy Kiernen of Orange Coast finished first with a time of 17:32.
Compton hosts Rancho Santiago and Orange Coast in a double-dual meet at Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday.
