Fumes Overcome 40 at L.A. Food Plant
About 40 people were treated for inhalation of toxic fumes at a seafood processing plant in an industrial area near downtown Los Angeles late Sunday, officials reported.
The fumes appeared to have originated at Galletti Brothers Foods at 1729 E. 21st Street.
Twenty people appeared to be seriously affected, according to Jim Wells, spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
