State Paid for 8 of 9 Trips by Official

I would like to point out that a very important piece of information was omitted from the Oct. 5 article by Daryl Kelley on the Long Beach travel budget.
Of the 13 trips attributed to me, nine were to the San Francisco Bay area and Sacramento. Air fare for eight of those was reimbursed by the state, in view of the fact that I have been appointed to two state councils.
The one that was not reimbursed was for my attending, as a member, a meeting of the League of California Cities Public Safety Policy Committee. Public safety is a serious concern in my district and our city and I believe it is in the best interest of my constituents that I keep active on the committee and help formulate policies on public safety at the state level on behalf of all the cities and their residents.
