Three additional anti-armor weapons have been found in a storage facility at Camp Pendleton where an anti-armor round detonated Thursday, killing two Marines and injuring three others.

Corp. Steven P. Devore, 21, of Montreal, Canada, and Lance Corp. David R. Ranes, 22, of Gresham, Ore., were killed by the blast, Sgt. David Celvi, camp spokesman said.

Sgt. Bob V. White, 25, of Artesia, N.M., was injured from the blast while at a turn-in point near the armory. He was listed in serious but stable condition Friday at the U.S. Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton, Celvi said.

The blast also injured two Marines who were inside an armory adjacent to the storage facility. Listed in stable condition at the hospital were James D. Brown, 22, of Rosedale, Ind., and Lance Corp. Eric B. Nagel, 20, of Madison Heights, Mich.

The blast occurred about 4:30 p.m. Thursday as Marines were returning weapons after training exercises, Celvi said.

Anti-armor rounds are normally stored in an ammunition supply point located near the center of the base, Celvi said. An investigation was under way Friday to determine why the round that exploded and the three recovered later were deposited in the concrete structure, he said.
