Hart Seeks Fourth Straight Win Tonight
Hart High’s football team will attempt to gain sole possession of first place in the Foothill League tonight at 7:30 when it plays Alhambra at College of the Canyons.
Hart, which began the season 0-3-1, is tied for first with Schurr. Both teams are 2-0 in league. Alhambra is 4-3 overall, 1-1 in league.
Hart (3-3-1 overall) is led by junior quarterback Jim Bonds. He has thrown for 1,068 yards, the second-best total in the Valley area. His favorite target has been running back Chris Hite. The two have connected 28 times for 352 yards and 2 touchdowns.
In another Foothill League game tonight, Burroughs (2-5, 0-2) faces San Gabriel (3-4, 1-1) at Keppel in search of its first league win.
Burroughs has the Valley area’s second-worst team offense, averaging 152 yards per game.
