Rookie center Patrick Ewing’s 10-year NBA contract...
Rookie center Patrick Ewing’s 10-year NBA contract with the New York Knicks is worth $31.2 million, with the first six years guaranteed, according to a story by Peter Vecsey in the New York Post.
The newspaper says his salary ranges from $750,000 for 1985 to $3.75 million in 1994, the final year of the contract, that $3 million of the total package is deferred, payable in 1995, and that the contract includes a $4.2 million interest-free loan.
Vecsey says the first six years and $17 million are guaranteed, and the last $14.2 million and four years are conditional. The Knicks have the options on years seven through nine, while Ewing has it on the 10th season.
