Sammy Davis Jr. in Fair Condition After Surgery
Entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. was in fair condition and good spirits Monday after undergoing three hours of reconstructive hip surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said.
The surgery repaired damage typically found in athletes and dancers, said Davis’ publicist, Arnold Lipsman.
“The surgery was successful. His spirits are good,” Lipsman said.
Davis, 59, was hospitalized Nov. 1, the day after he opened at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas. Lipsman said the entertainer’s hip had been bothering him the past few months.
