About 1,500 customers of three troubled savings and loan firms marched on the Maryland Statehouse in Annapolis to demand release of $1.2 billion in deposits frozen by Gov. Harry Hughes during the state’s savings and loan crisis. The depositors, some of whom have been unable to obtain money from their accounts since May, walked in a downpour with signs asking Hughes’ resignation.
