Stastny’s Hat Trick Beats Bruins, 3-0
Associated Press
BOSTON — Peter Stastny scored three goals Thursday night for the ninth hat trick of his National Hockey League career, and the Quebec Nordiques beat the Bruins, 3-0, to become the first visiting team to win in Boston this season.
Quebec backup goalie Clint Malarchuk, beaten in three previous starts this season, recorded his first NHL shutout.
Boston, which had been the league’s only unbeaten team at home with a 7-0-2 record, outshot Quebec, 27-25, but Stastny and Malarchuk led the Nordiques to their second victory over the Bruins in two starts.
