“TOGETHER.” Larry Coryell/Emily Remler. Concord Jazz CJ-289. In the best guitar duo album of the year, Coryell and Remler interact brilliantly, playing two of his originals, “Arubian Nights” and “Six Beats, Six Strings,” for both of which they switch from electric to acoustic guitars. Other cuts are Clifford Brown’s “Joy Spring,” Pat Martino’s “Gerri’s Blues” and Harold Arlen’s “Ill Wind.” Ironically, the greatest sensitivity of all is heard in Jobim’s “How Insensitive.” 5 stars.
