USC Seeks First Road Win When It Plays Colorado St.
USC’s basketball team, 0-2 on the road this season, will try to win its first game away from home tonight when it plays Colorado State (4-1) at Fort Collins, Colo.
The Trojans (2-3) will wind up the short trip with a game at Laramie, Wyo., Monday night against Wyoming (2-1).
Colorado State is led by 6-9 center Rich Strong, who is averaging 20 points a game. Wyoming also has a high-scoring center in 6-11 Eric Leckner from Mira Costa High in Manhattan Beach. He is averaging 16.7 points.
The USC women’s basketball team (5-0) will play Cal Poly Pomona (5-1) tonight at Pomona.
The fifth-ranked Trojans are coming off a 99-53 win over Indiana Thursday night and looking ahead to Tuesday’s game against top-ranked Texas at Austin, Tex.
Cal Poly’s Broncos are the defending Division II champions and are again top-ranked in that division. They have five players back from last season’s team and are led by All-American center Vickie Mitchell, who is averaging 14 points and 13 rebounds a game.
