H. J. Heinz Co. Posts 7.5% Rise in 2nd-Quarter Net
H. J. Heinz Co. reported fiscal second-quarter profits of $74.9 million, a 7.5% increase over 1984.
A year earlier, the Pittsburgh food products company reported net income of $69.7 million.
Sales for the three months ended Oct. 30 were $1.085 billion, up from last year’s $1.04 billion.
The company said its first-half profits were up 10.4% to $156.5 million on sales of $2.13 billion.
In the same period last year, the company earned $141.7 million on sales of $2.06 billion.
