Saddleback College of Mission Viejo and Snow (Utah) College, who both completed 11-0 seasons with bowl victories Saturday, were named co-national community college football champions by the JC Grid Wire.
The Gauchos defeated Fullerton, 32-13, in the PONY Bowl and Snow beat Northeastern Oklahoma in the Mid-American Bowl at Tulsa, Okla., 29-14. The highest national ranking that Saddleback previously had achieved was No. 4 in 1981, when it went 11-0, including a 13-12 PONY Bowl win over San Diego Mesa.
