John Mora, a Beverly Hills High School junior and captain of the cross country team this past season, will compete with runners from other nations in a 10-kilometer run in London. Mora, who returns Monday, was invited by the sponsoring International Sports Exchange.
University High School’s Daren Sand, who won the Los Angeles City cross country individual title last season with a time of 15:03.78 for three miles, is in the field for the high school two-mile at the Sunkist Invitational indoor track meet Jan. 17 at the Sports Arena.
Sand’s best time for two miles is 9:28. His competition at the Sunkist includes Kirk Stonerock of Saugus High (9:14.6), Steve Imlay of Temple City (9:15.62) and Richard Erbes of Glendale (9:30.37).
