800-Pound Tiger Turns on Model in Photo Session
TORONTO — An 800-pound Siberian tiger lunged at a model clad in a bathing suit during a photo session in a snowy city park, but the huge feline was quickly wrestled to the ground by its trainer.
Neither the model nor the trainer was hurt during the attack Thursday.
Christa Daniel, 20, was posing behind “Taz” the tiger, when the striped animal suddenly lunged at her and knocked her down onto the snow-covered ground.
Trainer Jim Dillman quickly leaped between them, grabbed Taz and wrestled with him as the terrified model scrambled to safety.
“I’m fine,” Daniel said later. “But I was incredibly stunned.”
The model, from Las Vegas, Nev., is the English Leather cologne calendar girl. She said she would work with the big cats again, but said a definite “No” to any more photos with Taz--at least for the day.
