Heavyweight Gerry Cooney agreed to a benefit match in Harrisburg, Pa., and in return, police dropped a disorderly conduct charge that said he was involved in an altercation in a Harrisburg hotel lobby last month.

Summary charges against Cooney and three of his companions were withdrawn. In turn, Cooney and his friends said they would apologize in writing to police officers and promised not to file any damage suits.
