Hodel to Open Offshore Oil Talks

WASHINGTON — Interior Secretary Donald P. Hodel said today he will open negotiations over California’s offshore oil leasing dispute with an 18-member congressional negotiating team on Jan. 28.
Hodel is required to negotiate a settlement of California’s offshore oil dispute in the catch-all spending bill Congress passed in December.
