Placentia : City Calls Moratorium on Adult Businesses
Businesses selling or displaying X-rated material will be prohibited from opening in Placentia during a 45-day moratorium on new adult entertainment establishments.
The City Council imposed the moratorium this week in order to review its current zoning ordinance.
Earlier this month, the council unanimously sided with its Planning Commission, which denied a permit for a business that planned to feature small booths for individual screenings of adult movies.
After the Jan. 7 meeting, which was attended by about 175 residents from Placentia, Yorba Linda, Anaheim and Fullerton, an attorney for the applicant, Dynavid Ltd. Inc., said he will submit a new request to the city.
