McMartin Case: ‘Begging for Answers’

Finally, somebody has shown some guts in the McMartin case. Reiner’s decision to drop the charges against five of the seven defendants brings to bear a glaring discrepancy between the allegations and the evidence. Could it be that the charges were trumped up from the beginning?

The prosecution’s case has shown cracks and weaknesses from the moment the children first started testifying, under oath, that they were sexually abused. Now, after the longest preliminary hearing in state history, after the McMartin family has been barbecued by the glare of the case’s publicity, the truth is coming to light.
