Nuclear Society Is Independent
An article in the South Bay section reported on the controversy surrounding planned nuclear fuel shipments to Long Beach. In that article, the reporter quoted a spokesman from “the nuclear industry’s American Nuclear Society.”
The American Nuclear Society is an organization composed of researchers, college professors, engineers, doctors, students and other interested citizens. The society does not “belong” to the nuclear industry, nor does it act as the industry’s spokesman. ANS is as independent as the Committee to Bridge the Gap and other so-called activist groups, and a great deal more professional and conscientious.
