Attorney Donald E. Bollinger of Glendora has been reelected chairman of the board of directors for Foothill Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Orville L. Mestad, a retired dentist, was reelected vice chairman and William Robinett was reelected president.
Cheryl Walker, an associate professor of English at Scripps College in Claremont, has been awarded the 1985 Graves Award in the Humanities. Walker said she will use the award to finish her book on modern American women poets.
Dr. Benjamin Stafford, a hematologist and oncologist, has been named chief of staff at Methodist Hospital of Southern California in Arcadia. Stafford is a former associate investigator for the San Gabriel Valley Community Clinical Oncology Program. He lives in Arcadia.
Ronald M. Cook and John Zweers of Pasadena and Everett M. McDonough of South Pasadena have been awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the Los Angeles Council, Boy Scouts of America. The award is the highest honor given to a adult volunteers. Cook, executive vice president of Atlantic Richfield Co., is a former assistant scoutmaster in Orange County. Zweers, an educator with the Pasadena Unified School District, served as a Boy Scout Explorer adviser for 19 years and has received Scouting’s Award of Merit. McDonough has served as scoutmaster and post adviser during his 21 years in Scouting.
Earl A. Powell III, director of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, has been elected to a three-year term on the Pitzer College Board of Trustees. Powell has served as executive curator for the National Gallery of Art in Washington and as assistant professor of art history at the University of Texas, Austin.
Stephen Domingues has been named acting dean at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont. Domingues, who was assistant dean, succeeds William R. Gann, who is retiring. Gann served as dean of students for 14 years.
Shirley Chervin and Donald Melching, both of Covina, have been elected to the board of directors of the Visiting Nurse Assn. of the East San Gabriel Valley. Chervin, a former president of the Inter-Community Medical Center Auxiliary, graduated from University of Pennsylvania and California State University, Fullerton. Melching is president of Lordon Enterprises of Covina and is a graduate of Kent State University, UCLA and Southwestern University School of Law. The Visiting Nurse Assn. is a nonprofit, community-based home health service for East San Gabriel Valley residents.
