College Softball : Oberg Paces Titans in Two Shutout Wins
The third-ranked Cal State Fullerton softball team won twice Saturday afternoon, defeating Fresno State, 1-0, and United States International University, 4-0, at Titan Field.
Susan LeFebvre gave up six hits but shut out the Bulldogs (0-4). She hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning to score Terri Oberg, who had singled, advanced to second on a wild pitch and was sacrificed to third.
In the second game, Orberg was 2 for 2 with four RBIs. She singled in two runs in the first, hit a solo home run in the third and hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth to lead the Titans (4-0).
Chapman 1-1, San Diego State 3-0--Casey Tacason pitched a shutout and drove in the game’s only run with a sixth-inning single to give the Panthers a 1-0 victory and a split of its nonconference doubleheader against the Aztecs at SDSU.
The Aztecs won the opener, 3-1, as Laura Nornberg doubled home Stacy Sullivan with the go-ahead run in the second inning. Pitcher Lisa Michie (1-1) went the distance for San Diego State.
