The Nordstrom family, majority owner in the Seattle Seahawks, has retained a New York investment banking firm to sell its interest in the National Football League team and is close to a deal, a Seattle television station reported.
John Nordstrom, managing general partner for the Seahawks’ ownership group, said: “No comment. There’s nothing to it.”
KING-TV reported Saturday night the Nordstroms have engaged the New York firm of Goldman Sachs to sell their 51% interest in the team. KING said Goldman Sachs representatives came to Seattle last week for discussions. KING also said that an out-of-town buyer has been found.
