USIU Women Get an NIT Berth

The United States International University women’s basketball team has received a berth in the National Invitation Tournament, the school’s sports information office announced Sunday.

The Gulls, 23-7 overall and champions of the West Coast Athletic Conference with an 11-1 record, were one of eight teams to be invited to the tournament, which begins Thursday in Amarillo, Tex.

First-round pairings will be announced Tuesday.
