San Diego State’s softball team beat Adelphi University, 1-0, in 10 innings Sunday.

Under collegiate softball rules, Sherri Percival, SDSU’s last batter from the ninth inning, was placed at second base to start the 10th inning. She advanced to third on Stacy Goff’s bunt single. Laura Norenburg was intentionally walked to load the bases.

Percival was out at home on a fielder’s choice, but Vickie Bence’s bloop single scored pinch-runner Leslie Menke.

Lisa Michie (6-8) pitched 10 shutout innings for the Aztecs (10-14).
