Chrysler Corp. said Peter A. Magowan, chairman of Safeway Stores, Oakland, has been nominated for election to Chrysler’s board at its annual meeting May 14. At the same time, the auto maker said that three of its directors, including Stephan Sharf, executive vice president-international business development, won’t stand for reelection. In addition to Sharf, 65, J. Paul Bergmoser, a director of Chrysler since 1979 and president of Chrysler from 1979 to 1981, and Najeeb E. Halaby, 70, a director since 1970, will step down. Sharf plans to retire from the company later this year.
