Cal State Long Beach Wins Anteater Golf Tournament
Cal State Long Beach won the 19-team, 95-player Anteater Invitational golf tournament Monday at Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach.
UC Irvine’s gold team finished second, led by seniors Eric Wood (149 for 36 holes) and Perry Parker (150). UC Santa Barbara’s Jim Osborn shot 148, the best individual round of the tournament. Cal State Fullerton finished seventh. Steve Tuttle shot 150 for the Titans.
In community college golf action:
Dennis Barksdale of Fullerton College shot a 72 to lead the Hornets to a win in a South Coast Conference Tournament at the par-72 Del Prado Golf Course.
