Trainer A.J. Foyt III said that his undefeated 3-year-old colt, Rare Brick, will undergo surgery for a chip in his left front ankle and will be out of training for a couple of months.

Rare Brick, winner of seven straight, was to have made his next start in the $500,000 Arkansas Derby April 19 at Oaklawn Park. “If he had shown he could handle the mile and eighth, we were planning on going to the Kentucky Derby,” Foyt said.
