Fountain Valley : 2-Alarm Fire Destroys Gallery Furniture Store
- Share via
A second-alarm fire destroyed a furniture store early Saturday, but firefighters from three cities were able to keep the blaze from spreading to nearby businesses.
The fire broke out about 6:30 a.m. in the rear of the Wood Gallery, 18175 Euclid St., near the San Diego Freeway. Wood furniture in the store fueled the blaze, and the heat broke the plate glass windows facing Euclid, said Battalion Chief Paul Summers.
Summers estimated damage at $150,000 to the contents and $125,000 to the building.
“There was some smoke damage to the stores on either side, but the fire didn’t spread,” Summers said. Firefighters from Huntington Beach and Westminster also responded to the blaze, which was controlled in about 20 minutes.
No one was in the building and no firefighters were injured, Summers said. He said the cause of the blaze has not been determined and remains under investigation.
