California housing prices rose in February.
Despite the increase, housing still remained more affordable than during the same period last year, the California Assn. of Relators said. The association said 32% of the state’s households could afford the $123,112 median housing price throughout the state. That percentage dropped from 33% in January. The percentages are based on the assumption that a buyer makes a 20% down payment and spends 30% of the household’s monthly income on housing expenses.
