Adecision on how to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Los Angeles School Board member David Armor will be made May 5, it was announced Monday.

Rita Walters, president of the Los Angeles school board, said the six remaining trustees will publicly discuss whether the board should appoint someone or hold a special election to fill Armor’s unexpired term.

Armor, who represents the West San Fernando Valley, announced earlier this month that he was resigning, effective April 30, to take a job with the Department of Defense in Washington.
