Wildflower Information Available
The Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers and Native Plants is operating its annual Wildflower Information Service through May 31.
By dialing (818) 768-3533, callers may get information about what species of wildflowers are in bloom and where they may be seen throughout the coastal areas, Santa Monica Mountains, deserts and inland valleys, including Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Joshua Tree National Monument and the Antelope Valley. Information is updated every Thursday.
The service will be expanded to accommodate more callers this year during the peak bloom period (usually April) with a gift from the Pasadena Junior League Garden Club.
The foundation, at 10459 Tuxford, Sun Valley, also conducts tours of its nursery for California native plants and will offer a wildflower bus tour on April 19. Information: (818) 768-1802.
