President Reagan telephoned President Corazon Aquino for the first time since she came to power two months ago and invited her to visit the United States, officials said today.

A government statement said the conversation took place at 11 p.m. local time Thursday and lasted about three minutes.

According to the statement, Reagan suggested a date for the visit sometime after the U.S. elections in November.
